Celebration of Union Q&A
I can only come for one day… which day is better?
Sunday! There’s a morning brunch, an afternoon ceremony and an evening celebration!
When is the ceremony?
Sunday at 2pm. Here’s the full schedule. You’re invited to everything!
Does the invitation include a “plus one” and/or children?
Absolutely! Please RSVP and include everyone in your group so we’ve got an accurate headcount.
Will there be activities for children over the weekend?
Yuppers! We’ll have a children’s area with inviting toys all weekend and kid themed Saturday activity blocks with supervision included.
Woolman Hill housing is full and hotels are expensive. What are my options?
You can camp at Woolman Hill (reach out if you need to borrow camping gear) AND you can stay with a F/friend! Contact us directly.
I don’t have a car – how can I get to Woolman Hill?
Here are some options. People are coming from all over – across the country, up from Philly, down from Maine, over from Boston, so we anticipate lots of opportunities to share rides. Closer to the date, we’ll send out a “Carpooling Offer and Request” document for people to self organize.
I have sensory needs because I’m human. What’s more, I know what some of them are. Will you provide any support this weekend?
Congratulations! Please share what you know in the RSVP form and we will co-create safety and support together. Here’s what we’ve got in place so far:
This is a scent free weekend! Please check your personal care products for fragrances and leave all scented items at home. If you use scented products to self-regulate (ex: essential oils), please enjoy them in your own space (ex: bedroom) and wash them off before re-entering community spaces.
There will be a designated re-set nook on site all weekend, including Sunday night. This will be a comfy and quiet space with low lighting ear-muffs available.
Quiet hours on-site include: Friday at 9pm, Saturday at 9:30pm and Sunday at 10pm.
Several areas of the Main Building will be air-conditioned. These spaces will be clearly labeled and we’ll prioritize access for the most heat vulnerable attendees.
The schedule is designed to include group time and rest time. We hope that you leave this weekend feeling rested and rejuvenated! What else would feel supportive? Let us know!
What will the weather be like in Deerfield, MA?
We can expect highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 50s. Find more details here.
What do I wear to your wedding?
Friday and Monday – travel clothes.
Saturday – comfy and casual. Hiking shoes? Bathing suit for sprinkler option?
Sunday – business casual or festive attire (whatever that means to you).
Inger and Carl plan to wear pants and vests to the ceremony.
What do I pack?
For folks attending all weekend, we recommend:
- Toiletries and personal products
- Casual/informal clothes for Saturday fun.
- Optional bathing suit – we may set up a sprinkler
- Festive or business casual outfit for Sunday celebrations
- An extra change of clothes in case of dirt, spills, drips, splashes
- A jacket or sweater for the evening.
- Comfortable indoor and outdoor footwear
- Flashlight, sunscreen, insect repellent
- Journal, camera, musical instrument
- Interesting item for optional “show and tell” activity
For people staying on-site at Woolman Hill, remember to bring your own towels and bedding (sleeping bag or sheets and blankets or comforter). Pillows are provided.
We’ll bring a few extra sheet sets to share. Let us know if you’d like to use them so we can be sure to have enough!
Do I need to bring my own food?
You don’t need to bring your own food. We’ll serve all weekend meals: Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner; Saturday brunch, dinner; Monday breakfast.
I want to bring my own food. Where can I store it?
No problem! The kitchen in the Main Building will have a refrigerator labeled for guest food that you can access all weekend.
I have dietary restrictions and/or strong food preferences. How will those be navigated?
Ask and you shall receive! Please describe your dietary restrictions and/or strong food preferences in the RSVP form when you sign up for meals.
We’ll use that information to have appropriate options available at every meal you attend. Specialized food will be clearly labeled, for example: gluten free, dairy free, nightshade-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.
I use a mobility device. What areas of Woolman Hill are accessible?
The grounds are relatively flat, the Meeting House has a ramp, and the first floor of the Main Hall is accessible. Most weekend activities will occur in these three spaces.
Can I bring my cute, adorable puppy?
Oh tragedy, you can’t.. Pets are not allowed on site at Woolman Hill. Exceptions are made for service animals trained to do specific tasks.
