Travel and Lodging

We recommend arriving Friday, July 3rd, and leaving Monday, July 6th. If you can only stay one day, we recommend joining us on Sunday, July 5th, for the afternoon ceremony and evening celebration. View the full weekend schedule here. 

 

Transportation Information 

People are coming from all over – across the country, up from Philly, down from Maine, over from Boston, etc. We also anticipate that a number of people will be traveling from Woolman Hill to UVM in Burlington, VT, for the 2026 Friends General Conference Gathering, which starts on July 7th. As the date gets closer, we’ll have a carpool sign-up board for people to self-organize. 

By Train from Washington D.C., Philadelphia, N.Y.C. and Intermediate points

The closest Amtrak stations are Greenfield, MA, and Northampton, MA, and trains from Washington, D.C. and all intermediate points run multiple times a day. Once in Northampton, you can take a cab or rideshare to Woolman Hill (~18 miles). We will also probably arrange carpools/shuttles from/to Northampton. 

Note: for people looking to take public transportation from the Boston area, we recommend taking the bus, not the train. 

By Bus from Boston and N.Y.C.

Both Peter Pan and Greyhound run buses to Northampton, MA. Once in Northampton, you can take a cab or rideshare to Woolman Hill (~18 miles). We will also probably arrange carpools/shuttles from/to Northampton. 

By Car from Wherever

Our Celebration of Union will take place at Woolman Hill Retreat Center, 107 Keets Rd, Deerfield, MA 01342. 

By Air from Wherever

The closest airports to Woolman Hill are: 

• Bradley International Airport – 57 miles (recommended) 
• Albany International Airport – 85 miles 
• Boston Logan International Airport – 104 miles 

Please note that we will not be offering or arranging shuttles from airports.
